As part of the London Transmedia Fest 2012 (#LTF2012) in late October, Ogilvy & Mather UK’s Storytelling Lab Day brought together over 1,000 creatives, writers, technologists, and creative thinkers around the theme of transmedia storytelling. Doug Scott joined the all-star list of inspirational speakers to present best-of branded entertainment case studies alongside Cody Hogarth (Head of Entertainment, Ogilvy & Mather UK) and moderate a panel with senior leaders from Twitter, Tumblr and the BBC called ”The Virtuous Circle of Transmedia Storytelling.” To top it off, Doug joined the Immersive Writing Lab at Ravensbourne College to discuss the birth of transmedia with a diverse audience of writers hosted by the BBC and Portal Entertainment.

During LTF2012, Doug spoke with the Ogilvy Digital Labs team about the role of storytelling in branded entertainment.

In this long-form video, learn more about Doug’s perspective on the importance of branded storytelling and how the elements of entertainment can help brands tell more engaging stories.

In this 3 minute video, Doug discusses why branded entertainment has reached a tipping point and how brands should utilize data and provide utility to make stories more relevant to consumers.
